I experimented with NOT lurking. The avalanch of short messages of people who either say nothing or want me to rate their (aweful) profiles a 10 is nearly unbearable at my slow connection speed.



For the past month, I've been hovering between 15 and 40 messages in my inbox. Deleting most and answering the few I wish to reply to is quickly overwhelmed by the constant flood of new messages:



"Hi, u r hawt!"

(Yes, I am. It's 110 degress outside, Capt Obvious)



"i want 2 git 2 knew u btr"

(Too bad. Learn to spell, then get back to me.)



"ur prof iz soooooooooo kewls"

(Your brain is soooooo atrophied.)



You get the picture. 1 step forward and 2 steps back...



I'm caught up as of this afternoon. I should be working, but I set the bit in my mouth and decided to finally reply to the messages that have been squatting in my message box.
